A member of our group Phyliss paused at the remains of a tiled doorway on Higher Bridge Street (between Slater Street & Egyptian Street) The tile says “Briggs” however she remembers the shop as Hadfield’s bakery. Here she first met her husband; he was serving behind the counter (how romantic!)
